Position Description:
The Commercial Refrigeration Leadman is responsible for leading and supervising refrigeration crews on commercial construction projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. This role serves as a key field leader, coordinating daily activities, supporting project schedules, and maintaining quality standards across all refrigeration installations.
The Leadman works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution. In addition to hands‑on installation, this position provides leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to field personnel while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and craftsmanship.
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of commercial HVAC/R or refrigeration experience
Demonstrated leadership experience supervising field crews on commercial projects
Required industry certifications and applicable licenses
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a team
Commitment to job site safety, quality workmanship, and company policies
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise refrigeration technicians on commercial construction sites
Coordinate and schedule daily work activities to meet project timelines
Install commercial refrigeration systems, including walk‑in coolers, freezers, and related equipment
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company standards, and project specifications
Troubleshoot technical and installation issues as they arise and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and field records
Collaborate with Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients to support project success
Mentor, train, and support junior technicians to promote skill development and performance
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork on all job sites
