JOB TITLE: Skilled Laborer (18 yrs. minimum age)
COMPENSATION: Wage depends on skills
SUMMARY:
Required to perform a variety of tasks including semi‑skilled laboring work on construction and maintenance job sites. Duties may include assisting with repairs, operating basic tools and equipment, and general labor support as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direct supervision of a higher‑level employee, this position performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance, repair, or operation of job‑site activities. Tasks require acquired skill, often involving mechanical equipment. No formal apprenticeship is required.
DUTIES AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Working knowledge & demonstrated skills in simple math, reading & writing English.
- Ability to operate electrical/air‑powered hand tools within manufacturer regulation guidelines.
- Maintain all hand tools in clean and proper condition.
- Notify Superintendent/Foreman of any tool operability or safety concerns.
- Ability to follow basic job layout directions.
- Perform all additional duties that may be assigned.
- Pre‑employment background check, physical, and drug‑screen are required.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TOOLS & POLICIES:
Each employee is required to provide their own set of hand tools, belts, tool bags, hard hat, safety vests, steel‑toed boots, rubber boots, proper gloves, and other personal tools needed to perform daily tasks as required.
The Company will provide all power tools and personal safety gear (PPE).
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to function in uncontrolled environmental conditions (weather changes and job‑site conditions).
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; routinely 50 lbs.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
- Ability to work different shifts, long hours (8–12 hours), and weekends as needed.
- Must have good vision, stamina, and good hand/eye coordination.
