JOB TITLE: Fabricator (Minimum Age: 18 years)

Summary
The Fabricator is responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products. This role may also include setting up fabricating machines and designing custom templates.

Duties and Required Skills
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of simple math and proficiency in reading and writing English.
- General understanding of blueprints and job layout documentation.
- Ability to operate electrical and air-powered hand tools within manufacturer’s regulations.
Duties:
- Maintain personal hand tools in clean condition.
- Notify Superintendent/Supervisor of any operability issues with tools or machinery.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Construct base templates as needed.
- Measure and mark cutting and bending lines.
- Set up and operate metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Double-check design specifications prior to cutting work.
- Fabricate and construct metal components.
- Grind and finish completed products.
- Perform quality checks on finished products.
- Adhere to state and company safety regulations.
- Complete job reports as required.
Additional Requirements:
- Pre-employment background check, physical examination, and drug screening.
- AWS certification and advanced welding experience are preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
- Proficiency with metal fabrication tools, including saws, shears, rolls, press brakes, flame cutters, and drill presses.
- Strong mathematical and engineering skills.
- Physical ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Good vision, stamina, and hand-eye coordination.
General Tools and Policies
- Employee-Provided Tools: Hand tools, belts, tool bags, sledgehammer, hard hat, safety vests, steel-toed boots, rubber boots, proper gloves, and welding hood.
- Company-Provided Items: Power tools and personal safety equipment (PPE).
Essential Job Requirements
- Function effectively under uncontrolled environmental conditions (e.g., weather changes and job site conditions).
- Physical capabilities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching to perform job tasks.
- Availability to work different shifts, long hours (8-12 hours), and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate near Pell City, AL 35128.
